About the Program

The HS visual arts department offers four elective classes to students. Each class is one trimester long. The Studio Arts program is fine art based and offers classes in drawing and painting, sculpture, printmaking and design. The ninth grade course is a general introduction to materials and techniques; older students prepare portfolios for college applications.

The Media Arts center offers classes in digital film making. Students using CCD miniDVD cameras and Macintosh G5 computers, write, direct, shoot and edit their own short films. Courses are offered in documentary, narrative and experimental categories. Whatever the format, students choose the content of their movies.

The Graphic Design course is a new offering for the HS.
