The
Arts lie at the heart of the
curriculum at LREI. Throughout
the three divisions, students
have experiences with studio
arts, music, drama, movement,
dance, wood working, photography,
and the digital media arts.
The Arts program is closely
integrated with the Core Social
Studies curriculum, encouraging
each student to develop a personal
vocabulary of expression, while
building confidence as students
explore a wide range of materials
and techniques.
Students
come to understand there are
numerous approaches to solving
a problem and risk taking becomes
a natural part of their creative
process. The Arts in the Lower
School include studio arts,
music, drama, woodworking and
movement. In the Middle School
students have experiences with
studio arts, music, drama and
digital media. Our High School
students have opportunities
to work in the studio arts,
music, drama, digital media,
filmmaking, and photography.
Throughout
the year student work is celebrated
in exhibitions, drama productions,
and dance and musical performances.
There are monthly evening “CoffeeHouses” in
which students, from the Middle
and High Schools, arrange their
own musical performances. Theatrical
productions include annual
Middle School and High School
plays and musicals. |
