• Application

  To begin the application process for academic year 2021-2022:

  • Complete an online application in Ravenna by the deadline of December 1, 2020 (available after Labor Day). There is a non-refundable application fee of $75. An application fee reduction is available upon request. Please contact the Admissions Office for the fee reduction code.
  • The collection of brief student statements within provides an opportunity for us to learn about the applicant as well as to assess the development of his/her writing skills. It is expected that applicants write all responses independently, without the assistance of a parent, teacher, tutor, etc.
  • After submission, your application will be processed within 5 business days.

• Student & Parent Interviews/Appointments

  Once we have processed your application:
  
  

  The Admissions Office will call you to schedule appointments for the student assessment and parent appointments. These will be conducted via Zoom. (Alternative means of communication for your interviews can be arranged.)
  
  Student Interview/Assessment

  • Applicants to Fifth through Eighth Grade will have a one-on-one virtual interview and assessment. This is an opportunity for us to connect with and get to know your child.

  Parent Interview

  • All parents will have a virtual interview with a member of the Admissions staff. During this conversation we look forward to learning more about your child and answering your questions.

  Once your appointment is scheduled, you will receive a Goggle Calendar invitation via e-mail. Please confirm your attendance by clicking "Yes".
  
  Group Applicant/Teacher Activity Gatherings
  Additionally, all applicants to Fifth through Eighth Grade will join a Group Applicant/Teacher Activity Gathering. In order for applicants to have the opportunity to get to know our school beyond the Admissions process, applicants will gather in small groups on Zoom with several of our Middle School teachers. After an initial icebreaker activity, students will move into breakout rooms with two teachers for additional activities, and then return to the whole group to conclude. This activity is in addition to the applicant's interview/assessment.

   

  Should you need to reschedule an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance.

• Virtual Visits

  Virtual visits are available for all families interested in LREI's Middle School. These sessions include information on LREI's High School. These will be conducted via Zoom. Reservations are required. To schedule a session, please use the link below. An application is not required to participate.
  
  We strongly recommend that all interested families attend a virtual visit to learn more about our dynamic program and progressive approach. Middle School applicants may participate in these events with their parents.
  
  When registering, please use the "Add Attendee" function within the event registration program to register attending parents/guardians and attending students.
  
  Middle School applicants and their families are welcome to attend a virtual Open House of the High School. To do so, please contact Cassie Stafford at cstafford@lrei.org.

• Testing

  LREI does not require the ISEE test, administered by the Educational Records Bureau, for Middle School Applicants.

• Official Transcript & Teacher Recommendations

  An official school transcript is required for all Middle School applicants.

  • Please submit the Transcript Request Form, available in Ravenna, to the applicant's current school after November 15, 2020.
  • Official transcripts must be sent from the applicant’s current school directly to LREI by
    January 15, 2021.

  Candidate Evaluation Forms:

  • In Ravenna, please delegate the Candidate Evaluation forms to the applicant's current teachers/school after November 15, 2020.
  • Candidate Evaluation Forms are confidential and must be sent directly from the applicant’s current teacher(s) to LREI by January 15, 2021.

  The Transcript Request Form and Candidate Evaluation Forms are included in the online application.

• Financial Aid

  We offer financial aid to students in our Fours through Twelfth Grade. Financial aid decisions are made independently of admissions decisions, and awards are based solely on financial need. All financial information submitted is kept confidential. Applicants interested in applying for financial aid should check the appropriate box on the application. • Decisions & Notifications

  Admissions decisions are based on the written application, interview, student visit and candidate evaluations. Decision notifications will be posted on Ravenna according to the guidelines set by the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York (ISAAGNY). Notifications will be sent via email from ms-admissions@lrei.org. Please set your email account to accept emails from this address as well as admissions@lrei.org.
