Archives and Alumni Council Committees Lead Centennial Preparation

LREI
The LREI community will celebrate the school's 100th anniversary during the 2020-2021 academic year.

In preparation for the Centennial Celebration, passionate parents and alums of the LREI Archives and Alumni Council Committees have already begun the task of organizing and preserving the past - through photographs.

On the morning of Tuesday, October 9, 2018, members of the Archives Committee convened at Sixth Avenue. For these volunteers, sorting through thousands of images is a labor of love for the school. In categorizing each photo (some of which date back to the 1940s), a thoroughly detailed visual history of LREI is constructed.

These community efforts have been part of an on-going archival project. During the 2017-18 academic year, dozens of members from the Alumni Council visited the Charlton Street campus in order to volunteer their time towards this collaboration. In June of 2018, LREI Trustee and Archivist Yukie Ohta led an Archives session during Reunion Weekend. With several alums participating virtually, the pool of contributors has increased, promising more active members during the 2018-19 year.
