LREI
Middle school teams advance to Javits Center
LREI’s middle school robotics teams won awards at this weekend’s Manhattan FIRST Lego League Qualifier and will advance onto the NYC FIRST Lego League Championship at the Javits Center next month.

The performance of the robots from both teams placed within the top 10 at the competition. The teams were also recognized by the judges in the following areas:

The 7th/8th grade team received the Research Award:
"This award recognizes a team that utilizes diverse resources to formulate an in-depth and comprehensive understanding of the problem they have identified."

The 6th grade team received the Judges Award:
"This award recognizes a team whose unique efforts, performance or dynamics merit recognition. Sometimes a team is so close to winning an award that the judges choose to give special recognition to the team."

Both teams also qualified to move on to the NYC FIRST Lego League Championship at the Javits Center on Saturday March 12, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Families are encouraged to support! A big congratulations to the teams and their coaches, middle school faculty Sherezada Acosta, Jeremiah Demster and Clair Segal.
