This class introduces the young beginner to the basic movements and ideas of Karate. Come dressed in clothes that you can move in. This class is designed for students who are new to Karate.

Let's cook together! We will explore some basic techniques and then whip up some delicious culinary creations. We will make everything from main courses and side dishes, to appetizers and desserts. We will cook up dishes that are guaranteed to become family favorites. **Please note that ingredients will include egg and other dairy products**
Are you missing your days in the Woodshop? Or maybe you've never been? Well, come on down! This class is for middle school students who would like time in the woodshop to work on projects of their choosing. All the familiar hand tools will be there (and perhaps some new ones!), as well as the chance to work with some power tools! *Please note that this class will end one class early (5/19). From recess games of hoop, to middle school intra-murals, to our Varsity Knights, basketball is a long celebrated staple in our community. Come practice your skills and learn some new ones as we play games of Knockout, Silent Ball, King of Court, and more! This basketball class is designed to energize kids, build confidence on the court, and to step into some friendly competition.

In this fun and energetic class, students will work on basic tumbling skills such as rolls, cartwheels, bridges and more. We will practice balancing on the low beam and sticking our landings off the springboard as we move through various obstacle courses we create. Come join us!

In this introductory gymnastics class, students will explore their strength, balance and flexibility through a variety of movement activities and gymnastics skills. Students will work on floor and the low balance beam, tumble through obstacle courses, and bounce on the spring board. Every class will include warm-up games, stretching, and introduction to new skills or techniques.
In this construction/art class, we will create tiny worlds using our big imaginations. Projects will include forest gnome homes, tiny apartments, tiny art museums, and more! Materials will include boxes, wood, cork, cardboard, string, wire, buttons, and many other tiny things, perfect for creating our own tiny worlds!

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of chess, specifically opening principles and basic checkmates. Our goals are to begin a game soundly, to be able to recognize basic checkmating patterns, and to perform simple checkmating procedures. Most of our work will be a combination of interactive instruction, chess puzzles and chess videos.
Students will learn how to solve checkmate puzzles, study checkmating patterns, analyze famous chess games, and review our knowledge of chess tactics. We will use chess.com in order to display lessons for students and to play each other.

Throwing, catching, bouncing, passing, hitting, kicking, running, and laughing! Using soccer, kickball, volleyball, baseball, basketball and more as inspiration, we will develop hand-eye coordination and teamwork skills all in an extremely encouraging, positive environment.
We will begin each class with skill building and drills, and then play an organized game. The sports we will focus on will include soccer, basketball, kickball, gaga, and hockey. We will also add in any other fun group games the kids are interested in.

Clay comes from the earth and offers a unique sensory experience that connects to nature, ignites the imagination, and is just so much fun! In this open-ended art class, we will explore the near endless possibilities when working with clay. Students will learn about the full range of what clay can do through a variety of exciting creative projects. Enter the universe of role-playing games! This class will explore role-playing games created specifically for Third and Fourth graders. We will work together to tell stories about our own original characters in worlds we create without having to wade through too many mechanics.
